Sunday Worship – 18th July 2021

Emmanuel Bible Church: Schooley's Mountain, NJ > Worship (Summer Hours)

This Sunday, during our Minister’s annual leave, our worship comes from The Church of Scotland Guild who will lead us in prayers, hymns and reflections on their new projects both at home and abroad. We will learn about the work of the Guild on behalf of the Church of Scotland that will happen as part of their next 3 year strategy “Look Forward in Faith” and give thanks for their last strategy “One Journey, Many Roads”. The Guild in Newbattle Parish, like all Guilds across the church has not been able to meet during the pandemic but we give thanks for the creative efforts of the National Committee who bring us this virtual Guild service today.

Sunday Worship – 11th July 2021

Emmanuel Bible Church: Schooley's Mountain, NJ > Worship (Summer Hours)

This Sunday, during the Minister’s annual leave, our worship will be lead by another member of the National Interim and Transition Ministry Team in a pre- recorded service. As we worship, we will learn about the very different experience of transition that the congregation of St Rollox and neighbouring congregations in Glasgow are having. These communities have been transformed in recent years as people seeking asylum have come to live in that part of Glasgow. Sanctuary Sunday is special worship service in the year to help the church remember those who are refugees throughout our world and to reflect on how the church can offer both physical and spiritual sanctuary to those displaced from their homes by war and trauma.

We give thanks for the sanctuary of our own homes, from which we worship today, as we share this service together.
