This Sunday, during the Minister’s annual leave, our worship will be lead by another member of the National Interim and Transition Ministry Team in a pre- recorded service. As we worship, we will learn about the very different experience of transition that the congregation of St Rollox and neighbouring congregations in Glasgow are having. These communities have been transformed in recent years as people seeking asylum have come to live in that part of Glasgow. Sanctuary Sunday is special worship service in the year to help the church remember those who are refugees throughout our world and to reflect on how the church can offer both physical and spiritual sanctuary to those displaced from their homes by war and trauma.
We give thanks for the sanctuary of our own homes, from which we worship today, as we share this service together.
