CHRISTIAN CHARITY = CORONA KINDNESS by Rev Gayle Taylor

Although this is a strange and worrying time for all, many of us have the emotional and physical resources needed to cope in the days and weeks ahead. Sadly, there are also those who were vulnerable before this situation unfolded who will struggle to meet their most basic needs.

We would like to give you the opportunity at this time to support us in caring for the community by donating items to our foodbank. We are expecting the need for deliveries to increase with the announcement today that the schools will close on Friday. We only take referrals through the Council Children and Families Department so all food goes to those in most need. We really appreciate tinned meat, beans, soup, pasta, sauces and cereal. All must be in date. As you will appreciate, we can’t bulk buy at the moment so are relying on small donations. Items can be handed in to Newtongrange church hall at the back door at the car park between 11.00-12.00 on Friday 20th March, at Mayfield and Easthouses Church on Sunday 22nd March between 10.30am and 12noon or there is also a basket for the Storehouse Foodbank in the Coop if you can’t get to the churches. We will be delighted to receive all your kind gifts for others. Every little bit helps. THANK YOU
